Kirk

Kirk is a compact sofa bed with a minimalist design and a side opening mechanism, equipped with a 160 cm double mattress in non-deformable polyurethane foam, 12 cm thick. Available in two sizes, the sofa bed can be customised in fabric, leather, or faux leather in a vast selection of modern colours.
Introduced at the Salone del Mobile 2026, Kirk is the result of a prestigious collaboration between Milano Bedding and internationally acclaimed designer Karim Rashid. The concept takes inspiration from the extraordinary talent of jazz musician Rahsaan Roland Kirk, whose ability to unite creativity, technique, and improvisation provided the starting point for a design that balances visual appeal with everyday functionality. Aligned with the sensual minimalism that defines the Egyptian designer’s style, Kirk is characterised by flowing contours, generous proportions, and soft curves that eliminate harsh angles. The welcoming appearance is enhanced by a spacious single seat cushion and large movable back cushions, creating a relaxed and comfortable seating experience. The armrests feature an organic, sculpted profile and can be accented with a contrasting trim that continues seamlessly into the backrest, emphasising the sofa's fluid silhouette.
While great attention has been devoted to its aesthetic qualities, Kirk also delivers the practicality expected from a premium space-saving sofa bed. The integrated sleeping system opens through a side-rotation mechanism, an intelligent solution that creates a double bed while limiting the amount of space required in front of the sofa. Even when fully opened, the depth remains within 180 cm, making it suitable for a variety of interiors. Conversion is quick and effortless: the seat simply rotates into position using the patented Lampolet mechanism, a system appreciated for its reliability, safety, and long-lasting performance.

Mattress
All models include a Standard mattress h.12 in non-deformable polyurethane foam. Alternatively, numerous other spring, polyurethane, and latex mattresses are available.

Upholstery

The sofa bed has removable covers and can be cleaned according to the care instructions specified for each upholstery material.
